Aloha — I'm Corey.
I've lived my whole life close to the ocean. Raised in San Diego, I picked up a camera in high school and never put it down. I was shooting film long before film was a choice.
Over a decade ago I moved to the Big Island of Hawaiʻi and built a life here: my wife, our four beautiful kids, and the ocean. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
This work fits the life I want to live. Weddings let me be a father who's actually present — home with my kids, on my own schedule — and that's not separate from the photography. It's the reason I notice what I notice. I know what a father-daughter moment costs and what it's worth, because I'm living my own version of it.
I'm not the right photographer for everyone, and I'd rather say that plainly. The couples who get the most from me know what they want, stylistically — or they hand me full creative trust and let me lead. Both make honest, beautiful weddings.
I take on a limited number of commissions each year. If the work resonates, let's talk.

"We couldn't have asked for a better photographer! Not only did our photos turn out STUNNING, Corey was so fun to be around and put our minds at ease.
A wedding is the one shoot that holds every kind of photography I love, all in a single day.
Portraits. Bridals that feel like a high-end editorial shoot, chasing the last of the sunset light. And woven through all of it, the candid moments nobody posed — the ones that end up meaning the most.
So I work in two modes, and I don't mix them up. When a moment needs directing — portraits, bridals, family formals — I direct it: confidently, warmly, and fast, in the best light I can find. The rest of the day, I disappear. I'm a fly on the wall, watching closely, and I don't miss the moments that happen once.
I shoot digital and 35mm film — film is part of how I see, not an add-on. It's in the work from the first frame.
For weddings, I start working with your planner from the day you book — through the months of details and plans — so the day itself runs calm and nothing is left to chance.
For elopements, I handle everything: locations, permits, timing, weather windows, and referring the vendors who'll make the day. You show up; the day is built.
And on the day itself, my energy is easy. Couples tell me it felt like having a friend there. That's the point — you'll spend more time with your photographer than almost anyone else at your wedding. It should feel good to have me around.
